Its a Girls Thing was incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) in 2017 with only a dream, passion, commitment and seed capital from few individuals who believe in our vision.  The founder’s firsthand experience witnessing the abuse and exploitation of girls in her native land combined with her personal life as a teen mother propel her to become a part of that change necessary to empower girls in challenging environments. She knew the time for change was now. ​

IAGT exists to give our girls renewed hope. Our approach is multi-dimensional and extends beyond a girl's own internal transformation to include having an impact externally on the greater society. Our methodology: create opportunities for exposure, one-of-a-kind experiences where our girls can see the endless possibilities within their reach; develop civically engaged citizens, building social connectedness through community partnership; provide practical life application tools to building and maintaining healthy relationships; and teach life milestone financial planning, meeting girls where they are at each stage of their lives.
